Happy Holidays to our Amazing Community

I feel it would be a disrespect to the season if I didn’t mention the people who have been supplying me with a job, the people who have been giving me somebody to share my hobbies with, and the people who have become some of the best friends I could ask for. We don’t get the opportunity to express our gratitude too often, so I’m taking the time I have now to do it.

I first started coming to Game Grid around three years ago, back when we were Epic: Puzzles and Games. I came because I needed to buy some Magic singles and they were the only game shop in the area open on Sunday. Zach quickly made me feel welcome and invited me to play in the Sunday Modern events, where I later met some of the best people I know. Now, three years later, I’m working side by side Zach, Jordan, Skyler, Cameron, Evan, and Joey, all of whom I consider my brothers, and have been given the same opportunity Zach had with me; invite people to be a part of our family.

This is going to be cheesy and cliche, but it’s Christmas so I get a pass. Being a part of Game Grid has changed the course of my life forever. I’m not from around this area and didn’t really know anybody too well until I began regularly coming to the shop. I would not have made any friends in this area if the community had not been so welcoming.

After becoming a member of the community, I was lucky enough to land a job right in the center of it. This has now become the job that I have been at the longest, as well as the best job I’ve ever had. There are upwards of twenty to thirty people that I can think of just off the top of my head that I am genuinely excited to see come in to the shop every time they come in.This would not have happened if the community I’m surrounded by daily had not become family to me.

Each year that I’ve worked here, we have gotten busier and busier, with more people coming in each day from someone recommending us to them. You people have supplied myself with a means of living, a means to enjoy life and the hobbies I love, and you have supplied me with the opportunity to make more friends than I know what to do with. I could not have made it like this if it were not for you.

Every single one of our staff members is grateful for the beautiful opportunities you have supplied us with, and, even if Skyler’s expression of gratitude is pointing at the door after you walk in and saying “Get out.”, I want to personally thank each and every one of you for being a member of our family. I can’t buy a present for each of you this season unfortunately, but I can express my genuine gratitude to this community.

Thank each and every last one of you. Whether you’ve been coming to the shop for years, months, weeks, or maybe you just came in a couple of days ago, I don’t care. Thank you. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you’ve done to help us grow together as a family, and providing a safe area where this family can cultivate. I love you all, and I hope everyone can have a Merry Christmas.
